  1. *** Rendition V1000 Reference Drivers ***

  3. Version: 2.1 beta2  -  November 14th, 1997

  5. These drivers are beta reference drivers.  They are not supported by
  6. Rendition, Inc.
  7. or by board manufacturers.  They are provided to users of Rendition
  8. based
  9. products on an "as is" basis, without warranty. They may not be
  10. disassembled or reverse-engineered.
  11.  
  12. These drivers may not work on your system, or you may lose
  13. enhanced functionality provided by your board manufacturer's drivers.
  14. Make sure you retain a copy of your existing drivers before installing
  15. these drivers.
  16.  
  17. Check with your board manufacturer to get updated, supported drivers.
  18. The fixes present in these reference drivers should make their way into
  19. your board
  20. manufacturers' next release, dated later than November 14th 1997.

  22. Please check with your board manufacturer, or on Rendition's WWW
  23. site at www.rendition.com to locate more recent driver releases.

  25. ****Installation Instructions for v1000 Reference Drivers***

  27. Open Control Panel
  28. Open Display
  29. Select the Settings tab
  30. Click the Advanced Properties button
  31. Click the Change button
  32. Click Have Disk button
  33. Click the Browse button
  34. Change to the directory where the drivers are located (ie on the CD)
  35. Once you have found the proper directory, there should be a "V1000.INF"
  36. visible in the left window pane.  
  37. Click OK
  38. Click OK again
  39. Click OK again (Rendition Verite 1000 PCI should be visible in the window)
  40. At this point, the drivers are being installed.  Once they have been
  41. installed, you will need to restart Windows (you should be automatically
  42. prompted you to do this).

  45. Trouble shooting
  46.  
  47. If for some reason you have any problems after installing these drivers,
  48. try the following first.

  50. On your CD, there is a program called "PHX2105.COM" (this should be located
  51. in the same general vacinity as where you found the drivers.  Copy this
  52. file to your root directory on your C: drive.  Then, edit your "Autoexec.bat"
  53. and add the following line:

  55. C:\PHX2105.COM
  56.  
  57. This will load the TSR version of our latest BIOS.  If you wish to disable
  58. having this load every time you start your PC, then "REM" out the above line
  59. in your "Autoexec.bat" file (just add REM infront of the line and save).
